GATHERING

Dear IFG members and friends, 

Welcome to another year of our get-togethers, when we share a meal, socialize and listen to most interesting speakers and great musicians.  Thank you all who came to the President’s Reception at UNH in September to greet the students and to make them feel welcome.  It was nice to get recognition for our group again and to know that our efforts are appreciated.  The foreign students’ community is very diverse again this year and we met people from everywhere.  Let’s keep on the good work!

Directions:   Go to Rt. 108 in Durham and drive towards Newmarket.  Turn left onto Durham Point Road off Rt. 108, go about 1.5 mile and you will see ##142/146 on a tree on the right-hand-side.  Take this long paved driveway and then the left-hand fork up to the house.  It's a long brown house, # 146 Durham Point Road.  The phone number is 868-3041.   If you see Deer Meadow Road on your left, you will have gone too far. 

Our presenters, Barbara Hilton and Douglas Prince, will share their pictures and experiences hiking the Kerry Way and the Dingle Way in Ireland past spring.

Their Bios:

Douglas Prince has been engaged in photography for the last forty years, both as a teacher and as a picture maker. Ten years ago, as a staff-photographer/manager at the University of New Hampshire Photographic Services, he began his evolution into digital image making which he continues to explore.  He currently resides in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and teaches at the New Hampshire Institute of Art, Manchester.

Barbara Hilton would describe herself as a, "walking dilettante humanist",  and is responsible for the initiation and organization of this trip. 

It will be a potluck as usual, so please bring a dish to share.  This month’s theme is “October Fest” so bring a German dish if possible!  Look for recipes on-line or in your cook books or ask our pros!  This does not apply to full-time UNH students! 

It’s time again for the dues and they are $15/person or $25/couple/year.  Please send your checks payable to the “IFG” to IFG, c/o 6 Floral Ave., Dover NH 03820 or bring them to the next meeting.  This does not apply to full-time UNH students!
